The owners hands-on says 70-80. It needs to do through the stud size, nothing to execute with the wheel (stock or aftermarket).

anything in excess is bad. At some point the lug will certainly break throughout torquing. Worst is if it breaks while you are on the road. That might be fatal.go v 76 simply to it is in on the safe side.
I am not sure if the information I obtained from dealer is correct, however for 18" TRD 10 speak wheels for Camry, the forced torque should be 118 ft-lbs.The TRD actors alloy wheels part number isT758-03078I called different dealers, and also I received different information: 76 ft-lbs of torque as declared in the manual. The tires shop recommend 80 ft-lbs.Now, what deserve to go not correct if i torque the lug nuts come a greater value?

Be really careful due to the fact that going above 76 ft-lbs is asking for trouble. It"s cheaper & simpler to invest in a torque wrench the you you usage forever compared to breaking a lug bolt. :ugh3:

I just checked all of the TRD and also accessory wheel instructions I have for the Corolla and also Camry (including PT758-03078), and they all
list 76ft-lbs.There"s no should go above that, no one does Toyota recommend going above that. 80ft-lbs is close enough, but there"s no reason to go any kind of higher. I would have actually a couple of questions for any kind of "mechanics" saying you perform more.If you walk higher, it will certainly usually damages the wheel or the stud. Often the stud. Even if the doesn"t break this time, following time you go to tighten it, it can just snap off. Extending the stud is negative news. Overorquing is hardly ever advisable.Jeff

Buy a torque wrenchYeah, just do 76 ft/lb. Ns snapped a stud off once doing that by hand. I"m an mean sized male that nevers goes to the gym and I still broke it :disappoin so i bought a torque wrench and also everything feels ideal again. Plus, it makes obtaining the lugs off a lot easier.

If you deserve to break it through a X wrench, I"d take into consideration you lucky. The stud should be bad. X wrench to add body weight is nowhere near a influence wrench.

I generally do around 72-74 ft-lb. If you have actually the an option stay away from shops the used affect wrenches. They"ll either rest the lug off, or do it a PITA if you ever get stuck with a flat. I know reason I to be trying to assist this girl the end who had a flat and I couldn"t gain the seed to relocate (and I"m fairly muscular). Top top my car however, I can loosen the nuts v mild effort and also a constant socket wrench.

Over tightening your lugs can reason rotor warp - i m sorry can cause pedal bounce (or pulses if steering fast) which increases risk of accident. Ns am instead of my brakes best now because of rotor warp.
Over tightening her lugs can reason rotor warp - i beg your pardon can cause pedal bounce (or pulses if driving fast) which increases risk that accident. Ns am replacing my brakes ideal now due to rotor warp.
I"ve been setup my torque to all my TRD wheel to 96 ft-lbs since my very first post. I gained in touch through TRD division and they advice me come torque the wheels to somewhere greater than 80 ft-lbs. Acquired an turn off the shelf 1/2" flexible torque tool, and collection it to 96 ft-lbs because that tightenning only. For removing the lug nuts I usage a various tool/wrench (21mm socket). Many thanks for the warping concern, ns am top top my second set that rotors. The originally ones ns donate them to a buddy of mine who has an "06 Avalon. The initial rotors I believed were warped at 45K mile (I bought an usage 07 Camry with 38K). Now I have 106K on some aftermarket rotors through Akebono brake pads top top front. I will article some pics, after ~ a "proper wash".
